about me
I’ve been with my husband for 18 years and love my stepchildren as if they were my own. I was born and raised in Maine, though I spent five years living out of state, experiencing a faster pace before happily returning home. Most recently, I worked in an assisted living facility and have also provided in-home elder and hospice care. I truly love working with the elderly and am sad to leave that behind, but I’ve always followed my heart and gut when making decisions, and I feel a strong pull toward this new path. So why nails and Reiki? I’ve gone through phases where I loved wearing artificial nails, especially during my five years managing a jewelry store. I’ve always been someone who can pick up skills just by watching, and I did my own acrylic nails many times, enjoying the challenge. Recently, I decided to try doing them again. When I went back to my nail tech, she admired my work and suggested I go to school—so I did! Reiki entered my life during a journey to heal my pain. I remember sitting at work because it hurt too much to stand, telling a coworker all I had tried. She gently asked if I’d heard of Reiki, and I recalled a long-ago experience where someone relieved a headache for me. She offered me a book to learn more, and as soon as I started reading, I knew I wanted to practice it myself. Now, I’ve completed Reiki Levels I, II, and the Master level, devouring that book and about a dozen others on Reiki and related topics. I’m deeply passionate about it and love sharing it. I look forward to welcoming people to CHAKRAS for nails and Reiki sessions, with the goal of everyone leaving feeling better than when they arrived. Here’s an update on my shift of focus at Chakras. When I first started, I was doing it all, while trying to find my niche. My drive to be the best version of myself and to produce work that reflects my ethics and deep care for others pushed me to continue my education. While taking certification courses and researching the best products, I discovered the Meticulous Manicurist Nail Academy course. This program brought together everything I was looking for—it satisfied my detail-oriented nature, my creativity, and my healthcare-focused heart. It allows me to offer a service- the STAR-NT Pedicure- that not only beautifies but also helps address foot situations with limited solutions. Once I put the STAR-NT Pedicure out into the world and word spread, it really took off and became the core service offered, alongside healthy manicures, pedicures, and reiki. Somewhere along the way, I also became a Scentsy Fragrance Consultant, which I absolutely love! The journey continues.

Mission
My mission is to have everyone who enters Chakras to leave feeling better than they did when they arrived.

what to expect
I’m a solo practitioner, which allows for a personalized one-on-one experience. I’ve worked hard to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for you. Leave your stress at door and step inside—this time is all about you. Enjoy a cup of tea and take a moment to relax your mind and spirit.

For me, Chakras represents well-being — and that’s what I want for everyone who walks through my door. ~Tina

Chakras is pronounced SHAH-krahs.
Why that name? It goes back to before I ever stepped into nail school. I was introduced to Reiki first, and chakras are the energetic centers of who we are. That concept carried real meaning for me from the beginning.
I explored other names, but I kept coming back to this one. Every time.
I didn’t need convincing. It just fit.
What are chakras?
This is a very simplified explanation of something that’s actually quite complex. The word chakra comes from Sanskrit and means “wheel” or “disk.” Chakras are energy centers within the body.
You can think of them as spinning wheels of energy that help regulate balance — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
There are seven main chakras, running from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. Each one is associated with specific organs, emotions, and aspects of life.
Every chakra also corresponds with a major gland or system within the endocrine system, which controls hormones, mood, growth, metabolism, and more. It’s a clear example of how energy and physical health are deeply connected — not separate systems, but intertwined ones.
